Cookie policy
Last updated: 2026-10-06
This page explains which cookies and similar technologies we use on calcosmo.com, what they are for and how you can change your choice.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device through your browser. Similar technologies include your browser’s local storage (localStorage) and pixels. In this policy we call them all cookies.
Which cookies do we use?
Strictly necessary and functional (no consent needed)
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| rt_consent_v1 (local storage) | calcosmo.com | Remembers your cookie choice, so the banner doesn’t keep coming back | Until you clear it or change your choice |
| rt_langbar_off (local storage) | calcosmo.com | Remembers that you closed the language banner (“Deze pagina is ook in het Nederlands beschikbaar”) | Until you clear it |
Advertising (only with consent)
If you click Accept, we load the Google AdSense ad code. Google and its advertising partners may then set or read cookies, with names such as __gads, __gpi, IDE and NID. These cookies are used to show ads, prevent you from seeing the same ad repeatedly, measure ad performance, prevent fraud and, if you choose, tailor ads to your interests. Exact names and retention periods are determined by Google and may change; they range from a few minutes to about two years. More information is available in Google’s overview of how Google uses cookies in advertising.
If you choose Necessary only, we don’t load any ad code and no advertising cookies are set. The calculators work normally.
Analytics cookies
We currently don’t use analytics services such as Google Analytics. If we do in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.
Consent and the Transparency & Consent Framework
We ask for your consent before any advertising cookies are set. Until you make a choice, consent for advertising is denied by default. The site is prepared for a Google-certified consent management platform that works with IAB Europe’s Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF). Once such a platform is active, we follow the choices you make there, and you can grant or refuse consent per purpose and per partner.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings button at the bottom of every page. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Note that you will then need to make your choice again on your next visit.
You can also turn off personalised Google ads in Google My Ad Center. Read more about how we handle personal data in our privacy policy.
